Synopsis
Twenty-one-year-old Sophia Ross has lived under the pressure of her parents expectations since the tragic accident that shattered their once perfect family. Determined to start over where no one knows her, she answers a housing ad on Craigslist and takes a job at a little bar in a town she has never heard of. All Sophia's looking for is a place to escape, somewhere she can hide behind her lies and keep herself distracted.

She just didn’t expect to be distracted by Corbin Kasey.

Twenty-five-year-old Corbin Kasey is stuck in his hometown, his job, and his life, spending more time covering for his Dad’s problems than trying to fix his own. To take his mind off everything he has the wild Kayla, his stable roommates, and the calmness of swimming in Mills Lake. He always thought it was enough to keep him from drowning in himself, until he meets Sophia.

Neither of them are prepared for their lies to be stripped away by a single kiss. But for Corbin and Sophia, the truth has consequences.

THE REVIEW
Sophia Ross is running away.  She's decided to reinvent herself.  Not because she wants to; but because she needs to.

Her parents are pressuring her to live a life she doesn't want to live in, and she's struggling to deal with a tragic accident that broke her family apart.

She decides to start her life over, and moving to a small town seems like the right way to go.  She answers an ad for a roommate on Craigslist, and gets a job as a bartender in a small bar.  She's nervous, but this is only way she can survive her heartbreak.

She meets Corbin, the owner of the bar's son.  She's attracted to him, but knows that he's preoccupied with the other bartender Kayla.  When Corbin's friend mention going swimming, Sophia panics.  She's terrified of water, but doesn't want them to know.  Corbin sees her terror, and he's instantly curious about it.  What would make that afraid?  He soon finds himself on a mission to get to know her.

Corbin has secrets of his own.  Secrets, if found out, could cause some serious damage to people that he loves.  His drunk father makes life tough for him, but he's always thought of his three best friends as his family. Then Sophia comes into his life and makes him start thinking.  Thinking about things that he didn't think were possible.

For Sophia, Corbin is the one who makes her forget all her promises she made to herself.  She tells him her secret that she didn't want anyone to know, and soon Corbin starts telling her some of his own.  He starts doing things that he has never done with another woman, and it surprises and shocks him at the same time.  She's different then the other's he's dated.  He finds a common ground with her; because they are both damaged in their own way.

When Corbin finds out there is more of a connection to Sophia that he's comfortable with, he struggles with telling her the truth.

Then tragedy strikes when all of their secrets come to a head.  Sophia is struggling with running away or standing by her man.  Realizing her love for Corbin is more important to her, she is there for her when he desperately needs her.

I loved this book!  I had to know what happened to everyone involved.  It was nice to see Sophia trust again and come out of her shell slowly.  As she grows, Corbin finds himself coming to terms with the events in his past.  With the support of Sophia he feels he can do anything.

I loved both of them together.  They were both scared to get too close to each other, they were both damaged because of their past, but together they were the support each needed.
