Title: Beautifully Undone
Series #: The Beaumont Brothers  Author: Susan Griscom
Genre: Contemporary, New Adult Coming of Age
He was broken.
Full of hate and sorrow.
Asher Beaumont never asked for much in life. All he wanted was to play his guitar, write music, and be recognized and loved by his father. Unfortunately, that last desire was never realized. The bastard died when Asher was just a kid. Then thirteen years later, his mother dies of a brain tumor, shattering him even more and leaving him hating everyone around him, except for his two best friends, Melody Stevens and her brother, Teddy.

Melody Stevens has crushed on her best friend, Asher Beaumont her entire life. But it’s always been a secret passion. Never something she’d act upon. But when she tells Asher she’s prepared—and determined—to lose her virginity to a guy he considers to be nothing more than a cad who sleeps with anything that wears a skirt, her best friend offers her a proposition she can’t really refuse.
When Asher stumbles across a letter left by his mother before her death, begging him to seek out his half-brothers, he and Melody begin a journey of discovery. Their travels lead them to the two brothers he has spent his life despising because they had the life he always wanted. While on their trip, they discover a miracle they never, ever considered.

A stand-alone, book 3 of The Beaumont Brothers Series with a HEA for Adults 18+

Melody
“I’ll let you buy me that Irish Coffee you promised me now. I think my fingers are about to fall off they’re so cold,” I said.
“If I remember correctly, and I think I do, it was you who offered to buy me the coffee.”
I shrugged. “Yeah, but you have more money than I do.”
The coffee house was jam-packed with wall-to-wall people. It was Friday night, and the city was already booming with weekend tourists. We made our way to the counter after standing in line for about ten minutes, and Ash ordered two Irish Coffees, one heavy on the whipped cream; that was his. The more whipped cream, the better as far as he was concerned.
“Mmmm…” I hummed as the smooth, sweet cream mixed with the coffee and whiskey goodness warmed my throat. Ash laughed, and I frowned when I looked up at him as his finger swiped across the tip of my nose. He held up his whipped-cream-covered fingertip before sticking it in his mouth, sucking it dry. My stomach jittered then knotted. Wow. He was so sexy. I’d always thought so, but now, in this light, his green eyes twinkled and his tanned face made him look just like one of the cover model guys I drooled over in my escape world of reading romance novels. My heart thumped and I had to look away, trying to focus on something less…Asher.
I needed to concentrate on something real. Not that Ash wasn’t real. But, I mean, a real, possible relationship. The only problem was, most guys I knew were friends with Ash and always treated me as if I were one of the guys, just like Ash did.
I once overheard Asher tell Brent that he’d pummel the life out of any guy who ever tried to get into my pants. Not that getting into my pants was ever going to happen with any of those runts, but he did manage to scare the crap out of all of them whenever the subject of me came up. It used to make me feel good and special that he cared about me and wanted to protect me, but now that we were both into our twenties, I just wished he’d let up a bit. How would I ever find a boyfriend with Asher’s daunting threats forever fresh on every male’s mind this side of the bay bridge? You’d almost think that Ash wanted me for himself, but I knew that would never happen. His feelings for me were strong, as strong as mine for him, but his were more of a sister/brother pull that kept us close, not the physical attraction mine were.
“Hi, Ash,” Lisa Stone sidled up against Ash’s arm. “So sorry about your mom. Let me know if I can do anything for you, okay?”
“Thanks,” Ash responded and eyed me over the edge of his cup as he took a sip.
“Hi, Mel. Heard you two playing in the courtyard earlier. You are so good,” she said, placing her hand upon Ash’s shoulder. “When are you performing again at the Tank?”
“Tomorrow night,” Ash supplied.
“I’ll be there. See you then.” She turned and headed toward a table in the back where a small group of men and women were gathered.
I turned in the other direction, not wanting to watch Ash’s gaze follow Lisa’s rear end.
“What?” he said when he finally glanced back at me.
“Nothing,” I said, rolling my eyes.
“Don’t give me that, ‘nothing,’ Mel. She’s nice.”
“Sure. Whatever you say.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing!”
“I know you better than you know yourself, Melody Grace Stevens, and when you say nothing and roll your eyes, there is definitely something.”
“Okay. It just seems like she’s throwing herself and her very large breasts at you all the time. It’s rather embarrassing how she comes across so needy.”
“Needy? I thought it was sexy.”
“You would. Look, I don’t care. It’s none of my business who with or where you get your jollies off.” If that’s the type of woman Ash was attracted to, no wonder he and I had never become anything more than friends.
I turned to see Alex walk through the door. Ash stiffened and sucked up the rest of his coffee. “Are you about finished?”
“No, what’s your hurry?” I asked, only halfway finished with my coffee.
I glanced back toward Alex. He wore a light grey denim shirt, the sleeves rolled up just below his elbows, showing off some cool tattoos on his forearms. The veins protruding as he reached up and swiped his hair off his forehead. He looked good. Really good. Almost as good as Ash. I quickly averted my eyes, not wanting him to know I’d been ogling him as he headed over toward us.
Ash knew Alex from way back in high school, but the few times I’d seen them both in the same room together, Ash always seemed a bit put off or uneasy.
“Hey, Melody. I’ve been looking for you,” Alex said, putting his arm around my shoulder when he reached us. Ash looked on, frowning.
“I’m right here,” I said with a slight giggle.
“I have two tickets to see Maroon Five at the Shoreline next Friday night. Wanna go?”
“Okay. Sure,” I said, sucking in my bottom lip, dying inside with excitement at the prospect of a real date with a real guy. I mean someone other than Asher Beaumont. Ash and I went everywhere together, so they never seemed like dates. And they weren’t, of course.

Release Day Blitz for Beautifully Used by Susan Griscom!!

Title: The Three Month Plan
Author: Kimberley Patterson
Genre: YA Romance
Hosted by: Lady Amber's Tours

Blurb:
Contemporary Romance 18+ due to adult situations  A Beaumont Brothers Series stand-alone book 2  Suave, handsome Brodie Beaumont has a history of using and being used by women. A past he doesn’t like to talk about has turned him into the type of guy he is today, but he hasn’t really cared. Until the beautiful and feisty Gabrielle Demeres comes back into his life.  Gabrielle learned the hard way what type of guy Brodie was the first time she met him. His crude seduction attempt earned him a slap to his face, and Gabrielle wasn’t exactly looking forward to another encounter with the cad. Unfortunately, her best friend was marrying Brodie’s brother, and Gabrielle and Brodie would be forced to spend time together whether she liked it or not.  As things in the small, quiet town of Turtle Lake take a decidedly dark and dangerous turn, Gabrielle and Brodie only have each other to turn to. Will they be capable of overcoming their aversion to one another while coping with their own troubled pasts and dealing with the current dangers surrounding them? Or is their hostility just skating the fine line between love and hate?
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, spending most of my time daydreaming or playing around in the mud. I grew out of the mud play, well, most of the time, a good soak in the mud is always fun. I still daydream often and sometimes my daydreams interrupt my daydreams. So I write to remember them. If I didn't write, I think my mind would explode from an overload of fantasy and weirdness. To the annoyance of my friends and family, my characters sometimes become a part of my world. During my childhood, I would frequently get in trouble in school for daydreaming. Eventually, my vivid imagination paid off and I had the privilege of writing and co-directing my sixth-grade class play--a dreadful disaster, though not from my writing, of course. I'm pretty sure it was the acting.
I enjoy writing about characters living in small quaint towns and tend to lean toward the unusual and edgy. My paranormal playing field delves into a different milieu, abandoning vampires and werewolves, but not discounting them. Someday I might like to write a novel about vamps and those furry creatures. But for now I like the bizarre mixed with romance. A strong hero or heroine confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and capabilities gets my blood running hot as does an steamy contemporary romantic suspense.

Cover Reveal for Beautifully Used by Susan Griscom!!

Title: Beautifully Used
Author: Susan Griscom
Series: The Beaumont Brothers
Genre: New Adult Contemporary
Publisher: Amber Glow Books
Release Date: Aug 2014
Edition/Formats It Will be Available In: eBook & Print

Blurb/Synopsis:
Brodie Beaumont – “I’m not going to pretend to be somebody I’m not. I like who I am, and I don’t need you or anyone else judging me. I’m not going to lie; I like women, and I don’t mind that they use me. Besides, I’m never really sure just who is using whom. Sure, I have a past, but who doesn’t? And maybe that’s why I act the way I do. But that’s neither here nor there, because I really don’t care.”
Gabrielle Demeres – “I’d learned the hard way what type of guy Brodie Beaumont truly was. His crude seduction tactics earned him a slap to the face after he actually groped my breasts while attempting to kiss me. I can’t say I was looking forward to another encounter with Brodie Beaumont. As my eyes fell upon a large pair of men’s DC Court shoes facing right toward me, I reluctantly looked up to find the man himself in all his yummy glory standing three feet in front of me, frowning. Yeah, I know, I had slapped him and declined his not so eloquent offer, but the guy was still hot despite his lack of discretion in the romance department.”
Forced to spend time together, Gabrielle and Brodie face the unthinkable on what was supposed to be the most memorable day of her best friend’s and his brother’s life. Would they be capable of overcoming their aversion for one another while coping with their own troubled pasts? Or is their hostility just skating the fine line between love and hate?

Chapter 1
Brodie

The buzz coming from under my pillow pounded between my ears like thunder. I’d set my phone on vibrate, and it was determined to ruin a perfect slumbering morning. I stuck my hand under the cushion attempting to silence it, but only managed to knock the offending instrument onto the floor.
The girl beside me pulled herself into a cute little ball with her knees hugging her chest, and her adorable little behind shoved against my cock. She moaned something about it still being dark outside. No shit. I frowned, and rolling over reached for my phone, unfortunately catching a glimpse at the digital clock on the nightstand in the process. A glaring red four-fifty-nine assaulted my eyes with brilliance that even Einstein would have been shocked by. The brightness made it impossible to determine who in God’s name was sending me a text so early in the morning.
I let the phone slip from my fingers to the floor without bothering to read the message. There was nothing in this world so important at five o’ fucking clock in the morning that couldn’t wait. I rolled back toward the hottie. “Sorry, baby,” I whispered into her neck, and showered her with little kisses there, wishing I could remember her name. Casandra, Clarista, Carry? It was one of those C names or was it K? No matter. Normally, I was pretty good with names. I’d never once called a woman the wrong name, but this girl had such an uncommon, yet so close to common name I’d had trouble all night long, and had to resort to calling her baby or sweetheart. I hated using those terms of endearment because none of the girls I’d been hooking up with lately were someone I’d like to think of as endearing. “Go back to sleep,” I said, sort of more of an order to myself than to her.
When she scooted back against me, moving her hips the way she did, she all of a sudden seemed very endearing to me. I rocked with her, closing my eyes, shutting out the visions of the bedroom I was in with its dark purple wall and massive black and white picture of a nude couple embracing on the adjacent pale pink wall. Lacy, pale pink curtains hung in the window. Not my room. This was a commonality for me recently, waking up to find myself in unfamiliar, feminine surroundings, since privacy at home had become an issue. That explained the bright digital clock beside the bed—not something I would ever own.
Cassandra, Clarista, Castalia, or whatever the fuck her name was, let out a sexy moan before turning around and wrapping her hands around me. Stroking and squeezing oh so firmly just enough to make a guy not only forget where he was, but not care. God, it felt so good, but not as good as when her tongue slid over the tip right before taking me in her mouth.
I must admit, my breath hitched as the tip of my cock hit the back of her throat, and I caught the slight gagging sound she made. “Oh, baby. That feels so good.” Actually, this Cassandra or whatever, was a bit mediocre in this particular department, but I wasn’t about to complain. Any attempt at a blowjob was better than none at all in my book.
This was my life. I wasn’t complaining. Nope, not at all. Today was starting off much like any other day lately; lazy, with a little romping between the sheets. It got my blood running, and today I needed to be on my game. Today, or tonight rather, was my brother’s bachelor party, and I was hosting it.
Buzzzzzzzz.
My phone again. “Hey, baby. Give me a minute will ya?” I groaned, pulling myself out from the soft sucking and into the cold air. Shit. What was wrong with me? I leaned over the edge of the bed and picked up my phone. This time I read the message. Only it wasn’t a message. It was an alert I’d set on my phone as a reminder. Pick up Gabby from airport. My brother’s soon to be bride’s maid of honor—and a major pain in my side—was flying in this morning at six-twenty, and I’d been volunteered by Jackson to pick her up. Thanks a whole hell of a lot, Bro.
“Fuck.”
“What’s the matter, Brodie?” she asked, licking her lips and grabbing for me like she’d just had her favorite lollipop taken away.
“I gotta go.”
“What? Why?”
“Sorry, baby.” God, what was her name? “I promised to pick up a friend from the airport.” Friend was a huge stretch of the English vocabulary when it came to Gabby. Gabriella Demers was not my friend in any sense of the word. In fact, she hated me.
The last time I saw Gabby, which was about a year ago when she’d spent a few nights in my house while visiting with Lena, she’d told me to go bungee jumping from a bridge without the bungee cord. Ouch. All I’d done to deserve that nice suggestion was tried my damnedest to show the woman a good time. Of course, my idea of a good time and hers were completely different, which I found out the second my lips brushed gently against hers and my hand strategically covered her left breast. She’d shoved me away so fast my poor lips never got the chance to make even a hint of a memory of hers. Right before she told me to go jump off the bridge, she’d slapped me and said I wasn’t her type. It was when I insisted that I was that she got nasty about it. Pffft. I was every woman’s type. But hey, I copped a clue right away and backed off the minute she shoved me away, she didn’t need to make an imprint of her hand on my face. There was something disturbing about that chick.
I shook the memory away and grabbed the waist of the one I was with, pulling her back against me. “I wish I could stay, baby, but I did promise my brother.”
“Can we hook up again tonight?” she asked.
“Sorry, no can do. Got a bachelor party to host.” Glad for once I had a bona fide excuse at the tip of my tongue.
“Aw. What about tomorrow night? I’ll only be in town for another couple of days.” Relationships just the way I liked them. Short and noncommittal. “We could have a replay of last night, maybe even make a movie so I have something to remember you by.”
Make a movie? No way. I had a fine physique and all, and I may be promiscuous, very free with my organs, some might even say I’m a man slut, but I didn’t need my ass in a starring role plastered all over the internet. “Love to, except I have commitments this weekend.” Besides, I’d never spent the night with the same woman more than twice, and this one was barely worth the one I’d already spent.
I quickly pulled up my pants and shrugged into my shirt. I pulled on my boots and grabbed my phone, and as I headed for the door she purred out. “Call me?”
“Sure, baby.” I lied as I shut the door, and deleted her number from my phone. I never saved them, and I never answered my phone when the number came up without a name attached.

Release Day and Review for The Fawn by Susan Griscom!!!

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
The writing of The Fawn has been a bittersweet journey. This is a story very close to my heart and a story suffered by many women around the world. It's not a new story. It is one that has been told time and time again by many different people in many different ways and with many different experiences, but with the same old problem. Hopefully through my love of my characters and emotions I've made it an interesting one. I wrote the first twenty pages of this story back in 2008 shortly after finishing the first draft of Whisper Cape. Although the story of The Fawn is completely fiction, it does represent a time in my life when I was insecure and my self-esteem was at an all time low, sometime back in my late thirties early forties. Things changed, circumstances changed, and I was able to find my own self worth. One thing similar to The Fawn is that I didn't do it alone.  The people in my life had a huge influence on me, friends mostly. And my knight who helped me realize my own self-worth time and time again. Just as Jackson is there for Lena, my knight was there for me. That is where the similarities end. But the emotion is strong in this story and I hope I've been able to portray it well enough to be appreciated. Lena's journey is very different from my own, yet, holds so much weight in my heart.

The Fawn
A New Adult Novel

Sexual content and mature subject matter, including domestic violence and abuse.

After a not-so-wonderful young adulthood—shuffled from one foster home to another—Lena Benton had hoped marriage would be her ticket to happiness. Wedded a year after high school graduation, Lena was certain she’d found her knight. But when Troy Harington’s true colors surface shortly after their glorious day of elopement, things aren’t quite as rosy as Lena had envisioned. When an unforeseen event turns ugly, all she can do is ... run!

But does she run far enough?

Jackson Beaumont prides himself on being a nature-loving, guitar-strumming carefree sort of guy, known for his eagerness to help injured animals find their way back into the wild. When Lena Benton walks into his bar, he’s once again swept off his feet with concern and desire to help the wounded. Will he risk having his heart torn apart again when the memory of the fawn he rescued as a child resurfaces?

MY REVIEW

When I first started reading this book, I really scared for Lena.  She was married to a monster, who is finally determined to kill her.  Before he can succeed, she stabs him as he is strangling her.  Believing him to be dead, Lena does the one thing she has only dreamed of doing.

She runs.

She doesn't care where she goes, she just knows that she has to get as far away from Troy as physically possible.  Lena knows if he isn't dead, he will stop at nothing to find her and finish the job he started.

When she walks into a pub and meets Jackson Beaumont, she doesn't expect him to be the one to change her life.  She's beaten up badly and is only wanting a cup of coffee and some peace and quiet.

Jackson takes one look at her and knows she is in some kind of trouble.  He doesn't believe her lie about being in a car accident.  He also knows that someone's fist caused her injuries.  Always having a soft heart to help wounded creatures, he decides to help Lena.  He's not too worried about whoever she is running from, he just wants her safe and healed.

What he doesn't expect is the attraction he feels for her.  He knows that the last thing she needs is another man in her life coming on to her, so he gives her the space she needs.  The last Lena expects is kindness from anyone.  For so long she's been dealing with her husbands cruelty that she's rightfully apprehensive about accepting kindness from any man.

Jackson gives her a place to stay, food in her stomach, and most importantly, the chance to see that not all men are evil creatures.  She's terrified to trust him, but knows she has no choice.

I loved this book!  It was gut-wrenching reading Lena go through what Troy did to her, but she had the courage to get out.  She had the courage to run until she was safe.  Because of everything he did to her, she believed she was weak.  She didn't understand the strength inside of her.  Just the simple act of getting away from the violence showed an immense strength of her being.

Oh my God... I so loved Jackson!!  He never pushed Lena farther then what she was comfortable with; and only ever wanted to take care of her.  Knowing her fear of killing her husband, he does a little digging of his own for her to find out the truth.

Then Lena sees an old friend in the pub.  One she hasn't seen since before he left her husband.  What she finds out sets about a chain of events that almost has her running again.

As I said, I loved this book!!  I loved seeing how Lena discovered who she was without Troy there to bring her down.  With Jackson's help, she's able to see that there are actually men out there capable of love and tenderness and not anger and violence.

Teaser Excerpt

Lena

No more tears, I ordered myself. It’s over. Was he dead? I hoped he was dead. I had to have killed him. My emotions—convoluted with anger and fear—dominated my judgment, giving me courage to go on. I’d never considered myself weak, to allow a man to have such complete and utter control over me—to beat me whenever he had the whim. How the hell had that happened?
Well, that person was gone and I didn’t want to be weak anymore. I lifted my glasses, studied my eye again, and thought of my mother—she’d been weak, I remembered. The vision of my stepfather beating my mother to death invaded my mind. I was nine at the time, and sat cowering in the corner, praying he wouldn’t come at me when he’d finished with her. I’d watched him slap my mom around before, and she’d always been able to recover. But that last time, he’d gone too far. I watched as my mother fell to her knees, clutching her stomach as his foot came off the ground and struck her in the face. She’d fallen backwards and her head hit the edge of the red, brick hearth of the fireplace. I covered my eyes and screamed as blood spewed out all over the bricks and the worn out, dingy cream carpet. A neighbor heard the screaming and called the police. They’d gotten there in time for me, but too late for my mother.
I’d been on my own since I was eighteen after enduring one foster home after another, never really fitting in. But at the tender age of fourteen I’d found my niche. An old discarded second-hand guitar I’d discovered in someone’s trash became my savior. As long as I had a guitar in my hands nothing else mattered. After a few months of living with some friends and several temporary gigs here and there, I’d been lucky enough to find a spot with a smalltime band singing and playing lead-guitar. They called themselves The Magic Crew. They were good too, on their way to stardom, and I was right there with them until Troy Harington showed up and swept me off my feet.
It seemed as if it had all been a dream as I thought about how he’d manipulated me into believing he loved me. Handsome? Oh yeah, he was handsome.

Title: Allusive Aftershock
Author: Susan Griscom
Publisher: Amber Glow Books
Release date: January 29, 2014

Available on Kindle, Nook and Paperback.

Also available as an Audiobook from audible.com, Amazon.com and iTunes.

What happens when a major earthquake changes life as you know it and the boy you thought you hated ends up saving you? Three times!

Courtland Reese is the guy everyone hates and makes fun of because … well, he is weird. He communicates with animals. Strange or interesting, seventeen-year-old Adela Castielle can’t quite figure out, but when he saves her from being trampled by her own horse, she begins to understand him a little better and wants to learn more about him.

But, Max--her best friend/dream guy/someday-to-be-her-husband-only-he-doesn’t-know-it-yet--hates Courtland with a passion. Adela wants to know why, except neither boy is talking.

When Max leaves her stranded in his parents' wine cave with his worst enemy, Courtland, after what the experts are calling a “megathrust” earthquake, Adela starts to question her loyalty to Max as steamy kisses in a dark damp cellar only fuel her emotions with more conflict.

But does she really have time to worry about that when fire, destruction and mayhem surround her?

MY REVIEW

Ok, I read this book in like two days, just because I needed to know... KNOW if they all made it out alive!  You'll have to read the book to know for sure, but I will say there are heartbreaking moments these characters endure.

The book starts with an earthquake, which frankly would scare the hell out of me!!  Also, my sister lives in California and I pray that nothing like this ever happens to her.  I loved Adela, because she was so kind hearted, and worried about everyone around her before worrying about herself.  She did have a stubborn streak in her, which does get her into trouble, but it does make her who she is.

It is when they are back at school that the big quake hits, causing a lot of damage and killing a lot of people.  It starts Adela on a journey of survival and reflection.  She realizes that her best friend Max is not the great friend she thought.  In fact, he is a jackass who looks out more for himself then Adela.  Until she calls him on it.  She's always believed herself in love with him, but he proves his true nature to her in due time.

When they find Courtland Reese burned and barely conscious, in front of his burned down house, she and Max work together to get him to the safety of Max's family's wine cellar.  Max is heartbroken at the state of his house, and the loss of his parents, but does man up with Adela to get Court in the cellar.  In the meantime, Adela starts taking care of Courts burns, much to the complaint of Max who doesn't think it's needed.

Now... there is Court.  He's beautiful!  He is who people call to assist them in calming their animals.  He works mainly with horses, but because of this gift, he's made fun of.  Kids in school call him a freak, and Mr. Doolittle.  Adela isn't too sure of him, and when she finally is able to get to know him, realizes that the kids are wrong.  Also, is surprised by the source of who started the rumors in the first place.  Court has been in love with Adela since he first saw her, and thinks of nothing but her.  Even while injured he thinks of her before himself.  Making sure she drinks and eats before him.  When she comes down with a fever after leaving the cellar, it is up to him to take care of her and get her to safety.

Soon, Max decides to take off to find people and help.  He's aggravated that Adela decides to stay behind to take of Court.  She tells him that he needs someone there to take care of his burns, and he can't be left alone.  When they are alone, feelings are finally able to be brought to the surface that were kept buried.  Revelations about Max come to light, that Adela realizes that she had been lied to about.  Things that were cruel and heartless.

There was a point I thought what more could this couple go through... would Adela find her family?  Would she find her horse that she loved so dearly?

In the end, Adela suffers some heartbreak, but with the love and support of Court, she's able to get through it.

I loved this book.  I could not put it down, as I had to know that they made it out safely.  I had to know what happened with Court and Adela, and if she found her family and horse.  Max, in the end, didn't turn out so bad after all.  He proved to be a pretty good friend to both of them.  He and Court were forced to work a few issues between them, but for Adela they would do anything.
