Busy Little Bee...

I've been so busy... between working the night shift for a week and a half, and then adjusting to coming back to days, I feel as though I could sleep for days!!

Plus, I'm part of Raine Thomas' Blog Tour AND doing a giveaway of Oppression by Jessica Therrien... like WOW!!!  Also, fit into that my daily life and writing my book, I've been busy!  I love it though... I wouldn't change it for the world!!  I have to finish Foretold, and now that I have Defy to look forward to, I can stop taking my time reading it.  I'm almost done, about 75% through... and it's starting to get really good!!!

I'm doing some changes to my book... AGAIN... I know!!  I was on a roll, and then I had a brainstorm hit me like a tonne of bricks!  I've done my research, found what I'm looking for and am going to incorporate it into the story.  The prologue changed again, as the original one didn't fit the storyline.  I had changed it around, so I had to fit into the storyline.  It just wasn't working me as it was.

Defy Cover Reveal by Raine Thomas!

Here it is... the cover for Raine's new trilogy!!  Love it!!!  Unfortunately, we have to wait until April 30th for it's release... I know I know... I hate the waiting too!!  Below is a little description of the book... just to get your curiosity flowing!!  I know mine is!!

Seventeen-year-old Tate is about to make her dreams come true.  Unfortunately for her, their dreams foretell her death.

Eager to explore more of the Estilorian plane and prove her abilities, Tate goes against her parents' wishes and leaves the area of protection surrounding her home.  Her choice puts her on a deadly path... one that leaves her alone, and severly injured and battling for her life.

Her possible savior arrives in the form of Zachariah, a male who has removed himself from Estilorian society for more then fifty years.  Fighting an unexpected connection to Tate, he must decide whether saving her life is worth destroying his.

As Tate struggles to find a way home, she ends up drawn into a dark Marcesti plot involving multiple murders and a powerful ancient artifact.  With the unpredictable Zachariah as her only source for aid, she'll soon find out if her abilities are strong enough to help her defy her Fate.

Happy Tuesday!!!

It's been a few days since I've last posted, but here I am!!  I'm working nights right now, but thought I would take a moment to post something.

I've been reading for a few days, and have in fact, started another book today.  I'm going to focus on writing for right now, as I want to get back in the mind set of focusing on it, like I had been.  I've started Chapter Five now, and want to get it moving.  I'm on the first scene at the moment, but would like to progress it even further.

Usually I give myself a few days to think about, let the characters talk to me, and show me where they want me to go.  It's getting there.  Hoping I can get some done tonight, although I'm pretty tired right now, so focusing will be hard!

Review of Oppression by Jessica Therrien

Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than the average person, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal. For Elyse, these things don't make her special. They make life dangerous. After the death of her parents, she's been careful to keep her secret as closely guarded as possible. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time. Among so many of her kind, she should not be very remarkable--except for the prophecy. Some believe she will put an end to traditions, safeguarded by violence, which have oppressed her people for centuries. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning--and she's not entirely willing to play by their rules.

When I heard that Jessica was doing a blog tour, I had to be a part of it!!  I've never been part of one, and was honored when she told me yes!!  Also, she was so generous to give me an ARC copy of this book before it's release date at the end of February.  I found myself on Chapter Three in a matter of half hour!!

This book had me pretty much from the moment I started reading it!!  If I could give it another five stars, I would!  In this book, you meet Elyse, who is different then the normal teenager.  She may look eighteen, but she's actually in her eighties, and she doesn't know why she ages so slowly.  Also, she can heal with her blood, which she keeps a secret from people.

I loved this book, just because everytime I started to relax into the story, another twist would get me so engrossed that I had to see what came next.  Elyse meets William, who works at the diner below her apartment.  Soon, she finds herself in a new relationship with new friends.  Through William, she finds out that she's a descendant of the Gods, and the only healer.  She has to be kept a secret, or she is in danger.

Soon, Elyse is faced with a very difficult choice to make.  There are people in her life that she cares deeply for who need her help.  She's torn, as she knows if she helps them, they are in danger by The Council, who govern the descendants with violence.  There are strict rules to live by, and she would be breaking them!

I was glued to this book for two days, just because I had to finish it to find out what happened!  I was totally engrossed in it!

Review of The Prophecy by Raine Thomas

Saraqael hadn’t intended to fall in love with Kate. It shouldn’t have even been possible. His kind didn’t experience emotion, and they certainly weren’t supposed to become attached to humans.

When he discovers that Kate’s dying and there’s nothing he or her human doctors can do for her, Saraqael realizes how deep his feelings for her run. And he understands just how far he’s willing to go to save her.

He vows to search until he finds a way to save her life. With the help of his best friend, Quincy, he embarks on a quest spanning the Estilorian plane…a quest that will forever change the future of his kind.

My only disappointment was that it was so short!  Just when I was starting to get really into the book, it was over!!

This is Saraqael's story, and although you learn more about him and Kate in Becoming, it was nice to finally read about Saraqael himself.  I would love to learn more about him and Kate's relationship as she's not in the book for very long.

My favorite part in the book, is when Saraqael and Quincy (another you meet in Foretold), go in search of a library.  Who they meet on the their quest to find it is, in my opinion, priceless!  I was laughing through their whole meeting with him!!

Another great job Raine!!  I loved reading it, although as with all your books, left me wanting more!!!  Was again, disappointed that it was over!

Happy Friday!!!

Friday is here... finally...

So, my plans for this weekend are to finally finish Chapter Four!!  I'm at the tale end of it, so I'm hoping to start Chapter Five by tomorrow sometime.  I love that I'm making progress!  I worked on it last night for a little bit, but exhaustion, as always, wins out everytime.  It's hard to write when I can barely keep my eyes open.

Tonight, is more writing time, and some reading.  I tend to do both when I'm able to... if I'm at a rough patch creative wise... gets the imagination juices flowing!!

Chapter Four is almost Done!!!

I'm on my final scene of Chapter Four!!!  There are going to be a few changes to it, but for the most part it is almost done.  There is one scene I want to be longer, and one where I may change the ending to it.  Add something that is supposed to happen a little later start in that scene.

I'm just happy that I'm almost on Chapter Five!  I love this!!!!

March Already...

How did February come and go just like that?  Pretty much you blinked and BOOM! it was gone!

Well, it is another Monday, and I am still sick with this head cold.  Saturday, I woke up with a fever and my head was totally stuffed.  Spent the day pretty much in bed, as getting out of it was just too much for me.

The good thing??  I did manage to get some writing done, and I read a little bit.  Good way to spend both Friday and Saturday evenings.  Hoping tonight can be just as productive for me!!
