THE REVIEW
When I read what happened to Sam in the first book, I wanted to weep for her. Also, I was really worried that she wouldn't be able to get out of the depression she had dove head first into.
With the help of Everleigh, her best friend, she manages to come back, although she isn't herself. She is a shell of herself, and she's worried she won't ever be able to be herself to come back. She knows that she doesn't want to have anything to do with men. Ever. After what happened to her, it's understandable.
When Griffin comes to see how she's doing, she isn't expecting to be attracted to him, but she is. He's beautiful, and is attracted to her. He knows he has to treat her with kid gloves, and he does. What she doesn't expect is that he is unwilling to see her escape into herself again. He doesn't allow her to be the victim.
Sam, also gets sick of being the victim. She gets tired of the nightmares that keep invading her sleep, and she refuses to take the medication that put her in a catatonic state to get rid of them. She wants her life back, and with the help of Griffin, she's able to do that.
I loved this book! I loved this series!!! I thought Hunter was hot in the first one, but I knew that Griffin was going to be just as a sexy!! He's always had a thing for Sam, and you knew he was a good guy, as he protected Everleigh in the first book from an over zealous patron who she didn't want touching her. Once he got involved with Sam, I knew he would stop at nothing to protect her from getting hurt again.
