THE REVIEW

Destiny has just turned sixteen, and is about to go get her driver's license.  Little does she know her birthday is going to change her so much.   Just as they are about to leave to go, her parents decide to change the plans on her.

She finds out that she has a brother she never knew about, and that her parents are some kind of killing machines.  Before she knows what is happening, her parents are both killed and she's given her mother's powers.  Confused she's forced to turn to a brother she doesn't know and lean on him to tell her what's going on.

Soon, she and her brother are on the run from things that are trying to kill her.  She doesn't know why, she just know they want her dead.

I really liked this book!  Honestly, I wish I could fight like that!!  I would love to be able to fight with a Samurai!!  Just because it sounds so cool!!!

Her birthday gets weirder and weirder when she finds out that her parents are slayers, and that she is one as well.  She's fascinated with how she can fight, and how her mother and grandmother can talk to her in her head.  She finds out that throughout generations, the women in her family are able to give their powers to the female taking over.

Destiny and three others are now the ones taking over.  She just knows they are slayers and they need to bring balance back to the world.

I really enjoyed this book!  I thought the action in it was great, and it had me glued!!  Whenever Destiny thought she could take a breath, more things were trying to kill her.

I felt bad for her, as losing your parents on your birthday would be hard to deal with.  Also, she finds out she has a brother she never knew, and is forced to trust him to stay alive.  That's a lot for a sixteen year old to handle, but she manages to do it just fine!
