**Mature Content Warning** This is a New Adult novel recommended for ages 17+ due to language, sexual content, and mature subject matter.
Photographer Sierra Stratton views the world through a lens all her own. She has an uncanny sense about people, something that often causes her trouble. When she meets the sexy and brooding Evan Dorsey, her intuition tells her he’s suffering, and she wants to be the one to help him.
Evan isn’t open to help from anyone, however. His focus is on his Major League career and making himself as marketable as possible for his upcoming free agency. He plans to ride out the season in Atlanta and then sign with another team, away from the painful memories that haunt him.
Someone’s eager to send him on his way, too. Between anonymous threats and equipment sabotage, it’s clear he’s earned himself an enemy along the way. To him, it’s one more sign that he’s right to move on.
But Sierra threatens his conviction. Her contagious smile proves hard to resist, as does her kiss. She tempts him in ways he never anticipated, making him question his plans for the first time. If he’s not careful, she might just convince him that he’s meant for her.

THE REVIEW
It is very rare that I can actually relate to a character, but I did with this book. More then I thought I could actually. I wasn't prepared for how much I would really relate to Evan...
When I found out that Raine was writing this, I was waiting VERY impatiently for her to email it to me when she was done! I loved this story so much, that I really didn't want it to end!! I loved finding out what happened with Everly and Cole, which is where the Sierra's and Evan's story starts off.
Evan is still realing from the loss of his mother to breast cancer. When he meets Sierra at his best friend's wedding, he never gets her name, but she makes quite the impression on him. Thinking she's a ghost, he goes back home and makes a career decision to play for Atlanta. It's the best move for him financially, and he's also reunited with Sierra.
When she sees him walking into the owner's office, she knows he's coming for a position on the team.
Evan is attracted to Sierra, but is determined not to let her in. With the loss of his mother, he's terrified of getting close to anyone. Sierra has different plans, and makes it known to him that she wants him.
And is willing to wait for him.
Once Evan starts with Atlanta, things start happening to his equipment. Things that aren't normal wear and tear from baseball. He blows it off at first, but then it's obvious to him it's not just a fluke thing. Someone wants him gone, and he's determined to find out who it is. Once he does, he's angry and hurt, as it's someone he once trusted.
First let me say... I could not stop thinking about Evan's accent... he's Australian... yea, he could read the dictionary and I would be in Heaven!! Also, when he was telling Sierra about how he felt with his mother being sick, it really hit home for me. My mother also passed from breast cancer, and I know that anger and hurt that he felt at the loss of her. I know that helplessness you feel when you realize it is only a waiting game until the cancer takes over. It brought me to tears reading it, just because I was remembering it all!!
Also, Evan is another smexy man!!!! He's beautiful, and somehow perfect for Sierra. She's naive at times, but it is her nature to be that way. She likes to see the best in everyone, which does almost get her into trouble. I loved that she was like that, because it allowed Evan to open up in a way that he didn't think possible. She had been able to make him come out of his cocoon of hurt that he had erected around himself after losing his mom.
As I said, I really related to Evan... more then I thought I would, but I seriously loved this book! The ending totally blew me away, and was something I was not expecting. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book!!
