Synopsis:
Dani refuses to lose another parent due to her absence from their life. After pulling herself back together following the death of her father, she moves back to her childhood town to live with her mom. She’s slowly pulled back into the lifestyle she worked so hard to get away from ten years ago. She accepts that this is the life she has always been destined to live. Getting a job at the store down the road and hooking back up with her first love Gage, seems to be the logical way to go…that is until Holden Reynolds shows up in town.

Now that Holden is finally back home from the Navy he plans on following in his father’s footsteps. Still trying to move on from the one woman who had his heart, he busies himself in work and returning to the country boy lifestyle he’s always loved. The best way to get over someone is to get under someone, right? That’s his mindset as he travels town to town with his job perfectly content with being a rambling man…that is until he meets Danielle Brooks.

When Dani isn't leaving and Holden isn't staying will they be able to keep themselves from getting too attached? Or will they be just what each other needs to cut all the strings that have them bound?

“You can’t save me from me, Holden.” –Dani

THE REVIEW

I loved this book!!  Another book I read into the wee hours of the night.... gotta love it!!

Dani Jo is still reeling from the death of her father, and is feels the need to protect her mother from a half brother and sister who are constantly high and using her.  Knowing her mother will never kick them out, she's struggling with the urge to leave town and do what she wants.  Photography.

When she runs into her high school boyfriend Gage, she's caught between a rock and hard place.  He wants to rekindle what she ended ten years before, and she doesn't. She makes it clear to him her feelings aren't the same.

Things get more complicated when she meets Holden Reynolds; in a rather comprising position.

When he runs into her at her work, he makes it known he wants to see her in a more social matter.  She's attracted, and it doesn't help that Gage is on the sidelines wanting her attention as well.  He's not happy about the competition, and she knows she has to set things straight with him once and for all. She doesn't want to hurt him, but she knows she will never be truly happy with him.

As she and Holden grow closer, she knows the end of them is inevitable.  He works on the pipeline for his father, and knows his time there is only temporary.  The thought of him leaving tears her up, but she knows it's going to happen.  Question is... does she want to go with him or stay in her unhappy life?  Little does she know there are people in Holden's life that have different plans for how his life should be.

I really loved this book, and Holden!!  He's every woman's idea of a perfect man!  When he first meets Dani, he's completely floored by her.  She's a take no shit, tell it like it is woman, and he loves that about her.  Once he gets to know her, he realizes that life is too short to keep old grudges pent up inside.  He has a life that is expected of him, and he once he meets Dani, he's not sure if he wants to live it anymore.  He thinks he may want to go on his own path and do what he wants to do.  Because with Dani is his life, he feels he can do anything!!

THE INTERVIEW

How long have you been writing?
A little bit over a year.
What or who inspires you to write?
Well, I have a dear friend that I started this writing journey with. Nacole Stayton and I both convinced each other to start writing. It was kind of a ‘I’ll do it, if you do it’, type of thing. Now that I’ve started, I can’t turn it off.
What genre do you like to read?
I’m into NA and Contemporary Romance…but I do enjoy a good paranormal read as well.
What is your favorite genre to write?
So far all I have written is Adult. I do plan on doing NA in my future.
Who is your favorite author and why?
Michelle Leighton is my favorite author b/c she is one of the first ones I read when I started reading almost two years ago. She is so down to earth and sweet and doesn’t mind me stalking her.
What do you love about writing and why?
I love getting to escape into someone else’s life. Even if it isn’t real, it’s still an escape. It’s kind of the same thing as with reading, except you get to decide how it all goes. We all need times to get away from life and that’s what writing does for me.

 What is the book about?
Save Me From Me is about Dani who is yanked back into the town she ran away from 10 yrs ago, when her dad suddenly dies. She now feels like it is her mission to be there for the ones she loves while putting her life on hold. It’s about her rediscovering herself along the way with the help of Holden who is only in town working for a few months. Each of them struggle with what they truly want out of life. They both have things holding them back and this book is about them deciding if they are ready to finally work through what has them trapped.
What or who was the inspiration for the book?
I have a friend, Bobbi Jo, who the basic framework for the story came from. She’s been through a lot, and I admire her for it. One day I was sitting and the concept came to me, so I asked her if I could loosely base a book off of her. She thought I was silly because to her, her life isn’t book worthy. I beg to differ. I believe there are things we all go through that could be book material.
Who are the characters in the book?
Dani Brooks, Holden Reynolds, Gage Beck (they are the main 3)

If you could have five authors, over for dinner, alive or dead, who would they be and why? Nacole Stayton, Jamie McGuire, Colleen Hoover, Abbi Glines, & Michelle Leighton. I’d have Nacole because she’s my bestie author and I know she’d love to be a part of a dinner that included four of the main authors that have inspired us from the get go.
