His open palm landed hard on her bare buttocks and she gasped with the shock of it, the sting racing hot through her body. She had no time to voice a complaint because he drove impossibly deep and undiluted pleasure chased the pain, causing her to arch her back and sink her nails into the corded muscle of his thigh. Her lips parted with a long saturated moan and she squeezed her eyes shut. "You don’t listen very well, do you?" he rasped against her ear. "You seem to have a fondness for disobedience."

THE REVIEW

This book was amazing!!!  I read it until about one in the morning, which always tells me how great a book it is!  I could not put it down!!

I felt horrible for Chloe, who is taking care of her mother and dealing with a younger spoiled brat brother who seems to think his sister needs to fund his drug habit.

When Chloe begins to start having suspicions about certain deaths happening at the hospital, she meets Dr. Brad Markson.  He's a cardiologist, and he's very good at his job.  One the patients lost is his, and he's pissed about it.

Soon, questions start being asked about Chloe's ethics as a nurse, and what length she would go to harm her patients.  At a loss, Chloe turns to Brad to assist her in helping find out why the patients died. Once they start finding out the truth, they are both floored.

I was hooked on this story... for Brad alone!!  He's beautiful and to his annoyance, is captivated by the young nurse.  They have one amazing night at a club and neither can forget the other.  What he wants most is for Chloe to trust and depend on him.  He wasn't expecting it to be such a fight.  He doesn't realize that she's raised herself and her brother from a young age. She's only had to depend on herself for anything.

For Chloe, trust Brad is harder then she thought.  The attraction between the two is electric, but there is this voice in her head that wonders is she's good enough for him.  He's made it clear that relationships are not his thing.  Also, her brother treats her horribly and she believes the awful stuff he says to her.  To make matters worse, someone is out to get her at the hospital.  She knows it; she just can prove it.

This is another reason she turns to Brad for help.  She doesn't like it, but she can't seem to stop herself. He is the only person she seems to trust with everything that is going on.

I love it when a book's ending surprises me.  This book did... totally threw me!  I was schocked!!  I love that happens!!
